    C1 Window Regulator Gear Replacement

The gears on each of the window regulators on my 60 are worn. I see that Corvette Central offers replacement gears. However I haven't found any information regarding how to assemble the new gears or what type of fasteners (rivets) to use.

Does anyone have any info about how to go about replacing these gears, or is there a better solution? Is there a supplier that I should consider sending them to for rebuild?

I'm also assuming that the gear on the cranks are ok.

    Thanks as usual.

Rick, I just grind the shanks off the old rivets, pry the gears off, install the new gears and weld the new gear to the old rivet shank. I don't know if this is the way everyone else does it, but it works for me. John

Thanks. Sounds pretty straight forward. Is there any difficulty and/or risk when removing the spring?

Not a problem, the spring is almost completely unwound when the regulator is at full travel. John
