Ed, I have the lines off and the sender unhooked. The one problem that I am having is removing the bolts from the hold down straps. I don't know if they are stripped or if there is a fastener on the bottom that I can't see and/or get to. I don't have much room to get any tools down under the fastener and my AIM doesn't show what is on the underside. The edge of the tank is within a 1/4" of the sidewall. Eric

Re: Fuel tank removal and resto for 62
The tank straps have square captive nuts riveted to the underside of the body, and very often become "uncaptive". They are difficult to reach but you can get a pair of vise-grip pliers on them (the voice of experience talking here) to stop them from spinning.- Top

Thanks Mark, I am sure that is what has happened to mine. When I was loosening the bolts there was a feeling as if a nut was spinning on the bottom side but I could not see anything under the strap. This helps to confirm my next step. Thanks again, Eric- Top
