The letter was mailed when I last posted. No response as of yet.
By now, without a response, I'd probably consider it a dead issue.
They've made it apparent that they don't want to deal with us.

I'm not sure how you did it or how you were ever satisfied with these kits. I tried one on Dad's 72 and found the steering coupler almost as bad as before I "fixed" it. I did as Joe recommends, bought a new one, and it was Rock Solid. I, too, would never save the $20 (discount GM price vs. repair kit price) by putting in the kit.
In fact, I plan on buying a few extra couplers soon to add to my "just in case" parts stash.
