can anyone tell me the correct finish that belongs on the pulleys of a 67 big block, also if anyone has info on the finish on the radiator support it would be appreciated.

    William------

The water pump pullies were fabricated steel pullies painted semi-gloss black. The crankshaft pullies were either cast iron (most common) or fabricated steel (some AC applications, as I recall). The cast iron pullies were painted semi-flat black and the fabricated steel variety were painted semi-gloss black. The alternator pulley was machined steel zinc plated. Power steering pulley was cast iron painted semi-flat black. AIR pump pulley, if used, was a fabricated steel pulley which was painted semi-gloss black or was phosphate-finished.

The radiator support was painted semi-gloss black for all 1967 applications.

I have another question you may be able to help me with. My 67 has black hood hardware(support, latches). I am under the impression that these are supposed to be shiny metal. Is there any chance that these are supposed to be black?

                William-----

Most of the componets of the hood latches were zinc plated. The return springs were an exception and were, if I recall correctly, black.

The hood support was zinc plated. The hood hinges were also zinc plated, but they may have received nearly full coverage in a chassis blackout operation

I've heard of the chasis blackout, what parts did this cover, and was it factory original or a process done at a later date. Basically, how can I tell if the brackets were supposed to be black or zinc plated.

C2 chassis blackout was only the mufflers.
