Help! I misplaced my judging Guide and need to know the color of the steering column on my tasco 60. I thought it was solid black (i.e blitz w/o overspray) in the engine compartment and tasco under the dash. Right? Wrong? Trying to get ready for for my first judging meet May 18th.

Re: 1960 Steering Column
It is NOT GLOSS, but semi-gloss or semi-flat or whatever term you use and the line is fuzzy the way you would expect it too be from an assembly line worker sticking the gun in the area - WOULD IT BE TOO MUCH TO ASK THAT BEFORE YOU ASK THESE QUESTIONS YOU BUY A JUDGING MANUAL???? There are TOO MANY points in the Judging manual that legitimately need to be CHALLENGED, but basic information and basic materials available should be purchased, ACTUALLY READ and digested.- Top

Re: 1960 Steering Column
Thanks Loren,
As I said in the beginning, I misplaced my JG. I have one and have read it. The car was used for a NCRS judging seminar last Saturday and I am trying to correct the deducted items to have it judged for real May 18th. I may have left the JG at the seminar. If I wait for a new one to arrive, I won't have time to fix anything. Sorry for the trouble.- Top

Re: 1960 Steering Column
Loren, I didn't mean to imply that it was high gloss liked rubbed paint but was sprayed with black lacquer and my guess is that it was not intentionally flattened, but no rubbing and a little age will take the gloss off, just like the interior paint. If the coulmn was sprayed with gloss enamel or urethane, there is no doubt that it would shine too much. I like to finish them just like the general did, a couple of coats of black lacquer left just like it comes out of the gun. Regards, John- Top
