    1960 Soft Top Storage Straps

I lost points for not having straps to secure the soft top in the retracted position. I believe these are the straps referenced on page 17 (3rd to last paragraph) of the 3rd edition JG (found it!), where it mentions that the straps "are used to secure lower rear bow to main bow when top is to be lowered into top compartment." Where can I acquire these straps?

    Bob,
I believe yours are a little different than mine ('56) however I'd check Corvete Central or Al Knoch. Think I got mine from Al. Regards,

Also, make specific inquiry as to the style of fastener. Many of the less expensive repro parts have a simple snap-cap whereas correct originals from the era used a slide-clip fastener. Straight axle interior isn't my specialty area, so double check the correctness of this statement for your specific car. This is a 'heads-up' input so you don't go to the trouble of getting the straps then getting an additional deduction for incorrect configuration....

I purchased the soft top tie down straps for my 1960 from Corvette Central. They do not have sliding fasteners; sliding fasteners are used on the trim covers that hide the "slots" where the soft top frame protrudes on the right and left side from the storage compartment.
