'64 Seat track anchors?

Is there a caged nut or something more rigid than fiberglass for the 5/16" fine thread bolts to hold down the seat tracks to the floor??? If so, are these replacable? All the rears are stripped.
Were the seat tracks mounted on top of the carpet or directly to the floor with the carpet cut around the tracks?

There should be a metal plate under each rear seat mount location (4). This plate is approximatly 3/16 thick and is threaded for a 5/16 bolt. If the threads are stripped you could add an additional nut under it or get a replacement plate from a dealer such as Long Island Corvette (800-466-6367). The plates costs $8.00 each and are riveted in place. The front of the seat is mounted to a long plate which has nuts welded to it. This plate is also riveted to the floor board. This plate is available for $20.00. You could also try adding an additional nut to this one if it is stripped.

The tracks are mounted directly to the floor. The carpet in rear is cut out for track foot; front carpet is cut on 3 sides leaving a flap to hide the bolt head. there is a cutout then from the front to back for track to rest on the fiberglass. I can e-mail you a picture of flap. Ken

Thanks Bob and Ken for the responses. i suspect some boob tried to tighten the bolts through the carpet and stripped them. Thanks for the picture Ken. Another proper repair on it's way.
