    Posi. rear end fluid

What is best for replacing fluid in Posi rear end? 80w90?
Is there any brand preference of what is available at local parts stores? I have the GM posi additive.

    Thanks
    Ryan

Joe's advice is always good and I would never go against it since you can usually count on the products of Mr. Goodwrench. However, I use Mobil 1 synthetic differential oil with the GM brand of positraction additive. It has worked well for me for the last 9 years.

Do you use the same lubricant, 80W90, for the 4sp trans?

The proper oil for the old four-speeds is a GL-5 SAE 80W-90 or 75W-90, either mineral oil based or synthetic. This is the same spec as for the diff, less the positraction additive.
