    C2 Lug Nuts

Can anyone please tell me what the torque specs might be for tightening lug nuts on a standard 5.5" Steel Wheel? Thank you

I've been changing wheels on various cars for close to 40 years. Recently, I bought a "click" type torque wrench. Also recently, I refinished my 5 rims and bought new tires. Naturally I used the torque wrench set at 65 ft/lbs to install the wheels. A few weeks and miles later, I removed one of the wheels. I couldn't believe how loose the nuts were. When checking the other 3 wheels and 15 nuts, they were all the same. I don't care what 65 ft/lbs is. It's not tight enough. Try it yourself before you take any long high spped trips.
