It's the correct GM SERVICE replacement part for the 73-75 Corvette application. However, it's not the original part used in PRODUCTION. That part was GM #330524 which was NEVER available in SERVICE; GM #3955321 was always the SERVICE part available from GM.

GM #3955321 was originally used in PRODUCTION for the hood-to-air cleaner seal on 1969-72 Camaros and Chevelles with ducted hood (ZL-2). Somehow or another GM decided that this part should be the SERVICE replacement for 73-75 Corvettes. My understanding is that this part does not really fit correctly in the Corvette application. How do you get a correctly fitting seal if you need one for a 73-75? Dr. Rebuild, of course.

                    Geoffrey-----

Good grief! I checked the Dr. Rebuild catalog and, sure enough, this item is shown as discontinued. I must have missed it since I don't often refer to 73+ items. I always considered this 73-75 A/C seal one of Dr. Rebuild's "signature" items. It's one of the cases where Dr. Rebuild supplied an item that GM NEVER supplied in SERVICE. So, a Dr. Rebuild NOS is of far greater value than a GM NOS. So, now, 73-75 owners/restorers are going to have to settle for the incorrect GM part.

                            Why NOT?

I need a new one and do not what to use the poorly fitting GM part. Several other 73-75 Vette owners are in need of this part as well. I believe the Dr. should reconsider stocking this part and continue his faithful service to the Corvette community.
