    Axels won't fit

I just had new bearings put on my 1961 axels. I went to install the axels and one won't go all the way in. It bottoms out, even with the second O ring sticking out. It is about 3/16 of an inch from going all the way in. Thanks for the help, Joe DeLuca

Do you have them on the correct sides?? One is slightly longer then the other.

Have you "jiggled" the one that won't fit around? sometimes the splines need a bit of coaxing. Are the splines still fairly straight? I just did them exact same thing on my 61 and my machinist said " looks like quite a FEW 6,000 RPM starts on these"

    Good luck,

The original bearings used a spacer ring to fill the well behind the bearing; the replacement (607) bearings are thicker than the originals, and don't use the spacer ring.
