    C2 Seat Belt Cables

I removed my outer seat belt cables and have bead blasted them. Were these a natural finish or were they cad/zinc plated? I'd like to remove the center cable and refurb. The AIM shows it to be held into the frame slot and the "tab crimped after assembly". Can this tab be unbent to remove the cable?

The sheet metal box cages that are riveted into the fiberglass body. I need to refurb these since they are rusty. I don't plan to remvoe the rivets but work on them as they are attached to the body. Were these a natural finish, cad, or painted black? What about the other sheet metal plates on the underside of body and riveted into body-- what was the original finish?

I am also in the process of restoring these. Mine were in pretty good shape when I took them out. The end tabs appear to be cad or Zinc plated. The cables appear to be natural. The cables have a piece of plastic tubing over them. How will you replace that as I need to do the same? The center cable tab can be bent down and the cable removed. I looked at my mounting plates and they are a light color but need to be cleaned up before I can say what the coating/plating might be.....I know they were not painted black. I haven't started refurbishing under the car yet. I just got the body off the frame this week.

      Steve,

There were posts in the archives referring to platic heat shrink tubing that was used to replace the older, aged original tubing. I believe sizes and a procedure for installing it was explained. If I hear anymore about the original finishes for the reinforcement boxes, I will let you know.
