Just got a new [tank to pump] gas line and kit for my 64.It came with a metal spiral piece about 15" and a cloth looking thing called a loom. My AIM shows something 24.25" from the tank end , inside the frame rail. Is this the loom or the spiral? It says glue to line, so i'm thinking it's the loom. If so where does the spiral go? Maybe where the line come out of the frame and bushing by the door? Thanks for any help.
The loom (material) goes inside the frame as you stated for "anti-rattle". The spiral goes where the line exits the frame at the "kick up" area just ahead of the rear wheel It will typically cover both short bends in the pipe in this area. The spiral is pipe protection in the wheel area where the pipe is exposed to road debris.
I'm in the process of restoring the same things. I was lucky...I was able to clean up the orignal items and save about $70.
