    C1 Horn Restoration

Trebor M., I AGREE. I too was thinking that. Surely there had to be a difference when insuring a '68 327/300 base car compared to a fully optioned L-89 or even an L-88!!!

    Re: 61 windshield revisited

Ed :I think if it was me, I'd do a few dry run assemblies to find witch method I was comfortable with. There is nothing like experience to make things go smoothly. Then I'd carefuly attack it with my sealer of choice. Butyl can be messy but it cleans up easily with grease remover from the auto paint shop

      C1 Horn Restoration

Any recommendations for restoration of my 441/442 horns on my '62. I really thought this was on the board a few months ago but I can't find it in the archives.

There is an excellent and detailed article on rebuilding horns by Joe Sikora in the Spring '00 issue of the Restorer. It's also on the Restorer CD.

There are two competent restorers of C1 Horns. There is an "entrapment" kit available for self restoration which will permanently destroy the horns. This is a VERY difficult job. I have misplaced the info for number two restorer and will post both references when I find my notes.

          Dale.

My recommendation: send the horns to Dennis Portka of Hamburg, NY. He advertises in the Driveline and Vette Vues.

I'd personally recommend Ron Goralski, NCRS Member e-mail Byegonevete@aol.com He did the horns for my '62 and they look and work like new. Phone 410-987-1948

Dennis Protka is one of my recommendations. He's done excellent work for mw in the past.

Ron Goralski is the other gentleman who does good work.
