When having my 60 judged recently, points were deducted for part of the firewall insulation being missing. Where can one acquire new insulation and is there anything I should know about installing the new insulation?

Long Island Corvette, as well as a number of other vendors carry the replacement insulation. I recently did my 66 and it would be very difficult to do without removing the dash, Steering column, brake and clutch pedals etc. May not be the case on yours. Best way to glue the insulation to the firewall is a heat resistant spray adhesive made by 3M available at Discount Auto, or Auto Zone. If the 60 uses the rubber grommets that are used in the mid years, another trick is to lubricate the rubber grommets with a liquid detergent or oil,prior to installation - almost impossible without the lube. -
