'61 Windshield

I plan on replacing my PPG windshield with a original LOF. Are there any tips or suggestions on making this a smooth installation.

My personal opinion is to forgo any sealant between the glass and the gasket, and use as little sealant in other areas as possible. If your car is anything like most of the C1's I've delt with, it will leak a lot of other places long before it will leak around the windshield. I have a new windshield to install in my 62 as soon as I have time, and I do not intend to use any sealant, period. The last one I installed, I spent months trying to get all the excess sealant off the glass and was never 100% successful. Just my 2 cents.

I did my '61 over the winter along with the dash pad. Above advise correct, I would add take lots of pictures and follow advice from ST12 on re assembly. Also do a search, seems I remember aomeone breaking 2 and finally getting #3 in without damage. There were more tips in that thread too.
