Can the outer rear wheel bearings be removed from the axles with something other than the special pullers made specifically for corvettes? I need to buy a bearing separator for other uses, and was wondering if there is a way to do both jobs with one tool.
Thanks, Robert Holmes
You can use just about any standard bearing seperator (like those available from OTC, Old Forge, etc.) PROVIDING that you are removing the outer bearing with the rotor removed. If you do it with the rotor still rivetted in place, which is MUCH prefereable if your rotors are still rivetted, then you need a special bearing seperator such as those manufactured by Kent-Moore.
