    C2 / C3 3919850 Intake Manifold

    Will a 3919850 Tri-power Intake Manifold (1968 400HP) work on a 1967 400HP car replacing a 3894382 Tri-power Manifold ?

Are there any clearance or linkage alignment problems?

Has anybody done this and can offer advice?

Mark - I haven't done it, but the 68 is a low rise manifold versus the high rise 67 style...should allow more clearnace not less. However, the linkage may be an issue, as I recall, the 68's were cable actuated, and your 67 has of course the rod type linkage, and I am sure you would have to customize this to work....why would you want to put the 68 manifold on your 67? Are you missing the correct unit....I know the prices have been going through the roof lately on the correct 67 oval port tripowers...Craig

      Craig,

Thanks for the info - I didn't know the cable linkage issue. (I also think I'd have a temperature sending unit issue, as well).

In answer to why - I'm getting wierd in my old age and would like to get original, correct castings while they are still available. I intend to keep mine for a while and you're right - prices for 382's are getting outrageous.

As for the '68 - I was curious if it would work if the "unthinkable" were to happen to my 382. I drive my car and the 68s are much more reasonable in price.

      Thanks for your interest.
