    C1 E-Brake Light Switch

Please identify the correct location of the emergency brake light switch as assembled onto the emergency brake arm handle assembly. Also which directions does it face? I assume the clamp and screw on on the bottom towards the floor?
Was glad to find out that the bulb did the blinking before I planned to replace it with a std. bulb.

Dennis, The switch should be mounted with the flasher assembly pointed up and the spring catch towards the firewall. The spring catch, which actuates the switch, is in turn actuated by the pin that rides in the slot along the top of the handle shaft. It should be located such that when the parking brake is fully disengaged, the pin pulls the spring catch, and thus the switch, to the open position. Good luck.

      Dennis,
The bulb does not do the flashing. There is a Tung-Sol flasher that clips into the switch assembly.

What year are we talking about? 61-62 has flashing bulb, earlier has flasher that mounts to kick panel.

And '56-'57 has the flasher integrated into the Tung-Sol switch assembly, all as one unit; different years, different systems.

The 61-62 wiring diagram incorrectly shows the falsher. The 61 AIM shows the change, dated in April 60 if memory serves me correctly.
