I just checked the plugs in my 66 small block with transistorized ignition and the plugs have VERY little wear -- I remember in the conventional ignition systems in the 60's cars the gap always increased .005 or so after 10,000 miles and the center electrode became rounded.
Is this typical of transistorized ignition --- less electrode wear?
