1965 Z-16 Chevelle, Duntov level of quality. Any of you fellow Corvette nuts know anything about their value. Possible Corvette trade working here. Thanks. Tried several Chevelle web sites but they are not nearly as friendly as the NCRS site.

Try this one and do a search on 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle (one sold at just shy of $80k):

Re: Non Corvette from a Corvette Guy
I saw the Red Z-16 that sold at Barrett Jackson 2001 and it was a beautiful example. As mentioned earlier you can check their website for completed auctions but I believe it sold for about 80K. I didn't see any documentation posted with the car when it was being displayed but I assume there was a pretty good trail on this car to fetch that price. As a corvette guy I was impressed with the Z-16.- Top

Re: Chevelles--Cameros they are close..........
I'd go with Wayne, Pete, and Dave on this one - I'm not that familiar with early Chevelles, although I'll never forget a black "M"-plated '67 Chevelle we had in the Chevrolet Engineering fleet that had a Reynolds 494 in it with Lucas/Kinsler injection, big velocity stacks, etc. - Helluva "sleeper"- Top

Re: Chevelles--Cameros they are close..........
-------1965 Chevelle Z-16s have so many unique parts and aspects to them that they are very hard to duplicate and pass off on any one familiar with them. Some of the "unique to the model" diecast trim peices are worth a kings ransom. The frames on all 201 of them were convert frames. They all had stereo-multiplex as part of the package. They all had 336 open rear ends(although not for long on some,Im sure).Fuel divider block just before the carb was similar to 396 Corvette but chromed.I believe they all had full guages, with tach, and the clock was on top of the dash. All,of course, were M-21 equipped, and had consoles. They were all yellow, black, red or white.Theres lots more,as Im just scratching the surface here, but you get the idea.Im not quite sure but the only choices someone back then may have had would be color, interior color, and vinyl top choice. Also again not sure, but they may have all been ordered on spec,so to speak.Hope this helps...............Bill S- Top
