Mesa, AZ area body shops?

Anyone have a recommendations regarding a body shop in the Mesa-Gilbert-Chandler area?

Near as I can tell, my '69 got backed into in a parking lot ... with minor damage to the drivers door/rear wheel arch area. Naturally it was a hit and run....

It currently has two-stage House of Kolor candy paint and mild flares on it (previous owner)

Anyway my thoughts are to either:
1. Have just the damage repaired, or
2. Since this is a 60K mi numbers-matching original except for the flares and paint, take this opportunity to remove the flares and restore the original color (riverside gold).

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated ...

Two major vintage corvette dealers are local to you. Try Hawkes Corvettes and CnV Corvettes. Both do restoration work on their own inventory. If they aren't interested in doing the work they should certainly be able to recommend a good source in the Phoenix area.

I have dealt with Howard's Corvettes in Mesa and I am of the opinion that he is as honest as the day is long. He was selling a Corvette for a friend and spent three hours with me, with the car on a lift. When I got done, I knew that the car was as advertised and I also knew that I could trust him.

I've worked with Howard's Corvettes in Mesa also for mostly mechanical and some minor body work. I've also seen several cars they have done there and in my humble opinion the work is excellent. As previously posted, Both Howard and Joe are great to do business with as well. Only problem is that he is generally booked out for body work quite far. He also takes his time, but it's worth the wait. They are at 343 S. Davis in Mesa. Phone is 480-898-1900.

No doubt about it. If you are planning on eventually restoring the original color and bodywork now would be the time to do it, unless you aren't done enjoying your car in it's modified state yet. Decisions, decisions. Only you will know for sure.
