i think i'm the king of silly questions, but at leat on this website i get good answers, i have a 66 roadster, the engine block casting number and vin tag indicate an early production 66 with 327/300 hp, the head dates and engine dates all match, the engine number matches the vin tag, i can't trace the car and it has 65 rocker panel moldings, is there any easy way to know a 65 form a 66 other than the vin tag which could obviously be counterfeit, the car does have reverse lights and 4 wheel disc brakes, the interior is an al knoch 66 black interior, thanks, joe tassoni
65 or 66

Re: What does the title say?
65 innerfenders have no provisions for a hood stand on the LH side and the RH innerfender has a raised pad. 66s had provisions on both sides with a non raised pad on the RH side and a square corner at the rear of the innerfender on the RH side. 66 innerfenders have the little dimple relief for the grille screw of the 63-64s, but the 65 didn`t. 65s have smaller SS bezels on the exhaust panel with add on brackets for attachment. 66 had larger pot metal bezels. There are others but that should keep you busy for a while.- Top

Re: What does the title say?
thank you, the title says 66, my only cause for concern is that as i restore this car and put new rocker panel moldings on, i put the right ones on and that they be correct, half the fun of having a vette is learning about the specs of each model and getting back to that condition. the car wont be for sale until my seven year old son gets it as a college graduation present and decides he doesn't have the money for gas(smile)- Top
