I have incorrect rivets in the hood support and pin plates. Is there a way to install correct rivets w/out separating the hood? Can I punch out the incorrect rivets and simply use a rivet gun to install correct rivets? Will rivets installed with a gun be strong enough? I have purchased correct rivets, cut the head off, filled and sanded the hole, painted them and tried to use the head to cover the incorrect rivet but my attempt at this solution was not successful.
