Top Flight Judging - 1982 CE

I have a 1982 CE Corvette with 11,000 orig. miles. Absolutely perfect in all ways except one. I just found out from the previous owner that the brake calipers are not the originals. Rather than hone out and resleeve the originals, they replaced them with new ones. Will this hurt me much when it comes to NCRS top Flight judging?

Brake calipers are not judged per se during flight judging, at least not to the level that an engine stamp pad or carburetor would be. Usually judges are looking to see that they are the correct colour and appear to be the correct configuration. Access is very limited, so judging is very limited!

Most likely the only external difference between your present calipers and the originals are some casting numbers. These are not judged at present, so I would tend to think that there would be no deduct at all.

All the calipers have been replaced on my 82 and I do not recall any points lost (on that item) at the Quebec Regional a couple of weeks ago.
