    engine overtemp

I read recently a discussion about engine overtemp and a possible link to the distributor vacuum advance bulb. Someone identified the bulb part number. I also have an overtemp situation at idle and have recently rebuilt my distributor. Could someone please post the part number for the distributor vacuum advance bulb for a 1967 327/350?

The L-79 has a vacuum advance that provides 16* at 8". The last three digits are of the GMPD number are '236', but I don't think they are available anymore from Delco or GM, though it's been posted that Dave Fiedler of TI specialties has them for about $85.

The other alternative is to buy the Echlin replacement, which is V1810, you should be able to buy it at NAPA or any other parts house that carries Echlin or Borg-Warner for less than $20.

You should check the vacuum advance on the car for leakage and it should be fulled pulled to the stop at idle.
