What are the correct valve covers for a 72 454? I now have chrome covers with drippers (not correct), installed by past owner. Did 72 BBC have dripprs? I'm thinking of sandblasting the chrome and painting. If not correct than where can I get the proper valve covers? Thanks.

Re: 72 BB valve covers
Ed------
1972 Corvettes with LS-5 used painted valve covers; none were originally chrome plated. Also, all 1972 LS-5 used a rubber plug style oil filler, not the twist lock style seen on virtually all PRODUCTION big block chrome valve covers.
I believe that 1972 LS-5 valve covers did have dripper rails, but I'm not absolutely certain on this point.
Exact reproduction big block valve covers are manufactured by Crane's Corvette of San Diego, CA (www.cranescorvette.com). However, they are not inexpensive at about $300 per set.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 72 BB valve covers
There is also an outfit named noahperformance, that is using the original tooling for 65-67 corvette BB covers, and may have the later units as well. They have drippers in certain models, not it others. He also uses the same name on Ebay and you can do better usually than the website....which is attached below.....Craig
