I'm not sure what to do with my window cranks and door handle on my '65. The parts are original and I really don't wish to repalce them with after market pieces. But, they're 37 years old and look like it. They're going to only look so good when I polish them up, so refinishing would seem to be the way to go. I'm not familiar with what's rechromable or not, and the cranks appears to polished verses chromed. Any advise would be appreciated.

They're chrome-plated zinc die-castings; a good plating shop can bring them back to life if they're not badly pitted.

The plating route is what I'd recommend as well. Repro vent window cranks that I bought had too long/deep a slot in them to properly hold the retainer clip.

These same cranks were used on many GM passenger cars of the same year.

I found my mint '65 cranks on a Buick 4-door.

Ah, now there's an idea. One thing I haven't done yet is pick up a parts interchange book. Never know what you can come up with. Which ever route
I go, I'll still get the originals redone. They're in pretty good shape.
