Casting dates, how do you ID the dates? the manual say they maybe upside down? looking from under the car from left to right, the month date and year to the right? upside down? with the year at the end?

For instance mine is C 7 7. March 7 67. Rather easy to decipher.

Biil, from underneath the car, look in front of the starter for the casting date. I have not seen one upside down before. Take a wire brush to clean the characters somewhat. Don't expect it to look clearly stamped and easy to read! Find the Alpha character on the left, closest to the starter, and work to the right to find the Numerical. A= Jan. The characters are about 3/8".
