I have read conflicting articals about 1981 4 speed cars should or should not have a composite spring from the factory.
Can someone clear this up for me? Did they or did they not have composite springs?
My 4 speed car has a fiberglass spring on it now.
Could you tell if it was a factory retrofit? Did other companies make these springs?
Hi Tim, Only the automatic had the plastic spring. It weighed eight pounds compared to forty four pounds for the multi leaf set up. This did not come from the factory as a 4 speed monoleaf Corvette. Hope that helps.>George
