Radiator Hose Markings

I am about to change the upper radiator hose on my 327/300 Corvette. The replacement hose has the blue line, however, the stampings on the hose appears to be poor quality. the "GM" stamp is on top of the "AE/AU" markings. Was this how the original hoses were produced by GM??? The hose I am replacing was very neatly stamped.

Typically, the "GM" and "AU" are the top line, and the part number and the "EU" are on the line directly below; haven't seen one where the "GM" is overstamped on other characters.

The replacement hose has the GM stamp over the EU. It looks bad. Was this typical of GM?

If you mean stamped on top of the "EU"(as opposed to above), no, that's not typical.

It is definetly on top of. The GM stamp has made the UE non readable.
