C3 Side Emblem Location

    C3 Side Emblem Location

    I need help in determining the exact position for the crossed flag emblems on a 1979 corvette. Someone in the past removed the emblems and filled in the mounting holes.

      The emblem is just above the middle side crease centered above the side gill. Look on the inside fender from the engine compartment side for signs of the filled holes.

          If you can not find the filled holes do not drill. It may be that they were not installed at the factory. I seem to remember something about those flags and an inconsistency on their application. Oldtimers syndrome prevents any other memories but the advice is still with merit. If you can't find the old holes don't be drilling new ones. BTW is there any chance those things were attached with adhesive with out speed nuts?

              Virgil,

              I think Jack may be right. I have a '78, and I'm pretty sure there are no holes because the emblems are attached with adhesive backing.
