Cation when sending heads to shop

Well I just got my really nice double hump heads back from the local machine shop, ready to bolt onto my 63 L76 rebuild. The shop stamped their 6 digit job number into both ends on the humps smooth surface !
Now I have theses unwanted numbers to deal with. Just a word to your shop to NOT stamp stuff into your rebuilds !

    Stephen-----

Fill the stampings with JB Weld, then block sand after curing. After painting, no one will be the wiser.

Re: Caution when sending heads to shop

Or, try to mount the heads so that the numbers face to the rear of the engine. I'd still try the JB Weld trick, too.

At least they didn't deck your block.
