C2 1966 BB 427 engine block

I have a 1966 427/425 BB engine block Cast # 3869942 with date code that reads C68 & VIN # 194676S124xxx ( same as on the trim tag). Did they make this block cast # in 1968 or is the date code really C66 as I have heard it can be difficult to tell a 6 vs a 8 on these?

Brad - this block was made in 65 and 66 only, for the 66 models. I belive it is a March 6 casting date. In my search for the correctly dated block for my 66 427/425, I noted the casting clarity on the date area was quite rough and is easy to read incorrectly.....Craig
