    Carpet vendor question

    Hello all!
Has anybody out there had any experience with Romeo Engineering? Maybe it's just me. I ordered carpet from them on May 6 with the promise that it would be shipped in about 10 days. It's now Aug 2 and not only has it not arrived, I can't even get theme to give me an honest answer. I have called them atbout 20 times. If I'm lucky enough to have someone answer the phone, he tells me "...it is going out at the end of this week." It never does. If I ask him to check on the order he says "...I'll check and call you back." He never has. If I leave a message on the machine, they say they will call me back-they never have. They run 2 ads in the Driveline every issue and run a free member ad. If others out there have had similar dis-service, maybe everyone should be made aware.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.
    Jeff

    Re: Carpet vendor question

I've gotten good response from deadbeat vendors by notifying Eric at the NCRS office. The threat of pulling their ad usually does the trick.

I've got a local club member, though, in the same situation.

A few months ago I ordered a complete set of carpets for my '67 from Al Knoch Corvette Interiors in El Paso. UPS delivered them in a week, and they turned out perfect...not cheap though.

        Re: Carpet vendor question

There have been a lot of posts about this vendor's delivery times on this forum in the past. It's to late now but you may want to look in the archives, and then decide how you want to proceed.

          Hi Jeff

I also ordered a carpet set from Romeo in June. I called once and was told they were late in their orders. I am not in a hurry for this set but now I am beginning to wonder!! But be careful. Al Koch has carpets but they Do NOT have a rubber gromet for the dimmer switch for the midyears. Al's are plastic, not rubber. Not appropriate for my 63 SWC. I have learned over the years that you have to ask ALL the questions. I'll keep reading the posts for future developments.

            Re: Carpet vendor question

Thanks to all of you who have responded to my posting! I guess I'm not alone. I will take the suggestion and contact Eric off line and see if he can do anything since several others are also waiting. It's really a shame because I did my homework and selected Romeo because it seemed that the person who took my order really knew the ins and outs of the different applications, was willing to answer all my questions, was willing to modify the carpet to match the original configuration, and had the best price. I guess all that doesn't matter if you never see the stuff.
            Thanks again.
            Jeff

              National Convention *TL*

              Jeff,

I am not sure when Eric is leaving for the National Convention in Monterey. He may have left already.
