My first first message and a plea for help--I am starting the resurrection of 68 that I have hauled thru several moves during the last 20 years. About time I guess. I purchased the outer rubber ws (rain shield?) and have found I cannot snap the fuzzy strip into the door. Rubber seems to be too thick. Have tried compressing it but it seems to return to original thickness. The chev parts book seems to show a unique PN for the '68. Anyone know if I'm correct on the replacements and if there is a source for the correct part? Please no comments on the sanity of starting this project with near junk. Thanks, Jim Chess.

The 1968 outer door glass window seal assemblies are, indeed, unique to 1968. These were GM #3937267, LH, and GM #3937268, RH. As far as I know, the complete assemblies are not reproduced. So, the only source would be NOS or used.
You should be able to repair your existing seal assemblies by using the parts available from Corvette vendors like Dr. Rebuild. However, you will have to remove the seal assmblies from the doors prior to installing the new seal strips. It's not clear from your post if that's what you've been doing. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C3-68 Conv door/window weatherstrip
Hi Jim:
I just rebuilt my doors last winter. I suggest you consider pulling the windows out, cleaning up the tracks and re-applying new grease while you are working on the seals. The windows will work alot better cleaned up and with new grease.
My 68 is an Octoer build so fastener type of the fuzzies and the rubber seal might be a little different from yours. I got my inner and outer fuzzies from The Last Detail a pair O/S wipes 49-F22723, and a pair I/S wipes 49-F22745. The rubber seal which is between the inner seal and the inside door panel wand as from Corvette Rubber, Part # D332.
I believe that Corvette America is now selling the seal assemblies ready to go.
Good Luck, John- Top
