    Starter Wiring 327

Someone butchered the wiring harness that goes to my starter on my 68 327, so I checked my Assembly Manual and found conflicting information.
When looking at the solenoid at the terminal that would be at "9 o'clock", toward the fender and away from the engine, my AIM in UPC 12 sect A9 shows a purple 18 gauge wire, but in UPC 12 section D1 it shows this wire as 18 gauge yellow. None of my wires are correct so I will splice in the correct size and color if I can determine what that should be. The GM Chassis Service manual also shows 18 yellow.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Kurt # 26406

    Kurt -

The "R" terminal on the solenoid has the 18-ga. yellow wire (12-volt feed to the coil only during cranking); the "S" terminal has the 12-ga. purple wire ("start" circuit from the ignition switch).
