can anyone comment on availability of hardtop for purchase for midyear
convertibles? i assume that any 63-67 hardtop should be compatible with
any vehicle of this vintage. is this always the case? any suggestions for
vendors? thanks.
Try the Auto Trader- Traderonline.com. They have some vendors that advertise and some of them have hard tops. If you want the print version, go buy a corvette trader.
-----While all the midyear hardtops will interchange,there are differences.Early 63 tops have a slight notch at the bottom front corner close to the door handle.Also,all back windows are dated.Headliners are also different from year to year.If you are going to restore the hardtop you get then some of this stuff will get corrected anyway,but there are enough hardtops around that you shouldnt have to settle for the wrong year.Really nice tops are out there.You just have to ferret them out.Hope this helps............Bill S
John, do a search on eBay for "hard top" and "hardtop". I've seen several mid year hardtops over the past couple of months. The prices they are going for seem reasonable too.
