    point resistance on electronic ignition

I was tuning the engine on my 67 427/435 with electronic ignition and when I set the switch on the Sun meter to point resistance it pegged at the bad scale. is this something that I need to remedy or is that normal on pointless ignition. Dan

A conventional dwell meter will not give a meaningful reading on the TI system. In my 65K miles of TI experience back in the late sixties through mid-seventies, it either worked perfectly or didn't work at all!!! Broke twice, but I was able to fix it myself both times.

One nice feature is that once you set your initial timing it will stay put, unlike point systems where the initial timing goes off with changes in dwell angle, which are caused by a combination of contact erosion and rubbing block wear. Also,it generates about double the per spark energy as a point system, so "plug fouling" virtually disappears as an issue and maintenance problem.
