    Side spears

    Hello everyone,
Can you tell me the correct order of the side spear placement on my 61? Since all three spears are a different width, and assuming the widest one goes in the middle does the narrowest one go on top or bottom? Also, someone had previously filled in the six mounting holes so I will have to measure and drill new ones but my question is how and the heck do you get the three legs in the holes. Seems you have to do some kind of weird manuvering of the spear to get it seated. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Mike

    Mike:
I have a '61. You are right, the widest goes in the middle, the narrowest goes on top, the other on the bottom.

Doesn't the ASIM list the part numbers and their locations? Just read the part number of the spear and slap it on.

The holes for the 3 pins are really slots.
You should be able to see their exact location from the back side when you take the kick panel off
        Good luck!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Some of the part numbers were illegible that's why I couldn't tell which one went where. Rod, I'm glad you said they were slots because I couldn't figure out how to get the pins in if they were round holes. Someone filled in the slots from the backside, can you tell me how long they are.
          Thanks,
          Mike

            Mike,

The front slot is 1 inch long and the rear one is 1/2 inch. The front one starts at 3 inches back from the cove and the rear one starts at 7 inches.
