c-1 dual quads

I have a 57 270/283 tha seems to be flooding out around left hand turns. The rear (primary)carb checks out fine(no leaks or adjustment abnormalities), but the front carb floods and leaks from the primary throttle shaft and venturies. The float levels are ok but this seems to be linkt to the left turn flooding. I thought I'd heard about this problem before but can't fins any info on it. this can be caused by a fuel bowl fuel leak into the auto choke vacuum passage between the main body and the top. the some models have a short piece of tubing pressed into the main body to prevent this leak. i am not sure what year this was added to the carbs.
