I'm placing a new GM crate 350 (basic engine) into my 1962 327/340hp for a driver engine while original is restored. I've been talked into also placing a MSD Tach Drive Distributor and Model 6a voltage box (distributor stated the Model 6a box was mandatory with the distributor. Anyway, can anyone give me a brief step by step on how to hook this up with a "one" wire alternator. I've also been told the alternator is basic, but high enough amps and easily works with the system I purchased. The alternator is new also and from GM Performance. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks a million in advance. Don

Re: MSD Tach Drive Dist w/Model 6a volt. box
I don't have the instructions in front of me, but as I remember, it does not matter what you have charging the battery. I am running a generator on one car and an alternator on another car. Power is taken from the battery, and you alternator puts out more power than my generator. If you have lost your wiring instructions, I think you can download another set from the MSD website.- Top
