    1974 rear suspension adjustment

I have been through my shop manuals and have not seen a procedure to increase tension on the rear leaf to stiffen the ride. I am running a fiberglass aftermarket leaf. Is there an adjustment that can be done?

    Tom-----

Rear ride HEIGHT can be adjusted by shortening or lengthening the spring bolts located on either end of the spring and connecting to the trailing arm. Other than that, there is no other adjustment, including tension or "stiffness", possible for the rear leaf spring. To increase tension or "stiffness" one has to replace the spring with a higher rate spring.

JC Whitney has rear spring stiffners in their catalog. All it is is an additional leaf added to the stack. But I'm sure they work.
