I am rebuilding a 73 Roadster. I replaced the rusty frame and am securing the body to the new frame. The #4 body mount reinforcement was rusty so I bought new ones. It looks like I need to remove the Deck Lid and hardware associated with the convertible top to get at the inner reinforcement. Is there a short cut to installing the reinforcements? Also, what size rivets are required for this application? Clay hccatch@aol.com

Re: 73 Roadster #4 Body Mount
Had same problem with access on my 73 roadster. Lyle recommended taking out the thick spacer block to gain access. Unfortunately, I had already removed the spring brackets. The outer upper bolts have very limited access. Found 'gear wrenches' with 5 degrees per click the only way to get to them. You get two clicks per stroke, but you get the entire assembly off. To replace the nut keepers you will have to remove the spring bracket assembly. Good luck, it takes patience and a little time.- Top
