    C-2 BODY PANEL DATE CODES

    I AM RESTORING MY 65 CORVETTE COUPE AND HAVE COME ACROSS DATE CODES ON ALMOST ALL OF MY BODY PANELS SUCH AS QUARTER PANELS, REAR PANELS UNDER THE FUEL TANK AREA, TAIL LIGHT PANELS,FRONT FENDERS....THESE APPEAR TO BE A DARK BLUE IN COLOR...MOST ARE 2 TO 4 MONTHS EARLIER THAN THE MY BUILD DATE OF MY CAR...DID EVERY PANEL ON THE CAR HAVE THESE INK STAMPINGS..??? IS IT RARE TO FIND THEM STILL LEDGABLE ON THE CAR...??? ANY RESORATION BOOKS OUT THERE THAT SHOW THESE STAMPINGS...??? THANKS,,,,RICK

          Rick; yes they are kind-of purple when new and they will help you if you take pictures as they prove original glass is still in place, also will help verfy original side exhaust. Clean parts carefully with soap and water and you won't damage them. Davidavid
