C2 wheel backspace/offset

The wheels on my '65 are garden variety Chevy disc brake wheels of unknown lineage. The track of the vehicle appears too wide with these wheels, the tread dangerously close to the fender openings. Can anyone advise what the correct backspace or offset for these wheels should be? Thanks for your help. Mark

1965 Corvette steel wheels (15x 5-1/2") had an 0.44" offset.

For reference the '67 6" Rally wheels are speced at +0.06" offset, and from my own measurements of KO/adapters, they are the same as the 6" Rally wheels.

The original 5.5X15 wheels on my 64 have a 3.75" backspacing. I believe the 65's would be the same.

I also have a couple of 67 "DC" rally 15X6 wheels that have a 3.50" backspacing.
