I'm a first time restorer and I'm trying to remove the instrument cluster on my 76 Stingray. I've removed all of the facia screws but the bottom of the cluster remains anchored. I would appreciate some insight as to how to free up the cluster for removal. Tnanks!

The Chevrolet Service Manual says to remove the console front side covers and "...insert a flexible drive socket..." to remove the nuts. It's not that easy, though. After you remove the nuts, and providing that you have relatively small hands, you can replace the nuts with wing nuts like I've done for years. Then, the next time you have to remove them it will be a lot easier. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
