Has anyone tried one of the aftermarket A/C systems from Vintage Air or Old Air Products? I have a 327/350 65 non a/c roadster and I was wondering how difficult of an effort it is (do I have to buy an a/c compatible manifold and switch the alternator from passenger to driver side, etc?) which vendor is the best/cheapest and what kind of results were obtained. With this heat down here in NC I am melting away. Thanks much, Keith

Re: AFTERMARKET AIR FOR A C-2
Have tried 1 - recommend Old Air Products they seem to work best and also leave full glove box. Also, you might need to consider a Griffin (available through DeWitts) or Be Cool radiator to assist with keeping the water cool. Good luck, Gary.... gchesnut@flash.net- Top

Re: AFTERMARKET AIR FOR A C-2
I've tried both the Old Air Products unit and the Vintage Air unit. I prefer the Vintage Air unit. Easier to install and works great. I prefer the Sanden compressor. Not original but much more efficient than an A-6 compressor. Do a search on "aftermarket air conditionings" on this site as this subject has been covered many times and you will get many opinions.
Installation of an electric pan behind the radiator (puller fan) helps the A/C system get colder and the car run cooler. A puller fan WILL fit in the fan shroud with the original fan installed. Most will not know it is there.
Of course a good radiator is necessary whether you have A/C or not.
