I'm tring to hook up an aftermarket amp guage to a 1962 with a generator. Where do run the two wires? The diections are for an alternator, telling me to connect the positve side of the battery for one side and the B terminal on the alternator. Any help for this electrically-challenged member would be appreciated.

Re: amp guage wiring
Hook the battery hot wire to one of the ammeter terminals. If it reads "charge" when you turn the key on take it off and hook it up to the other terminal.
Good luck! After 6 years at MIT I'm still electrically challenged. Can't do squat but man am I ever a mathematician! Wow!

Re: amp guage wiring
Dale-Thanks for the help. I'm still in the dark with where the other end goes. I understand that the wire originates at the battery and goes through the guage, but where does the other side go? I agree with your comment that many years of education don't always give you what you need to know, otherwise I would understand this simple circuit. Doc- Top
