Mid Year Shock

For many years I have used a front a shock from Delco, part number 22047542.
These are the gas shocks that work great on a mid year. This shock is no longer available under this part number. Anyone have a new Delco part number for this shock?

GM #22047542 is replaced by GM #22065208. This shock absorber is also known under its Delco part number of 560-50 and is the "Reactec" shock often discussed. I HIGHLY recommend them for any 63-82 Corvette. Incidentally, the rear shocks are GM #22065207, also known as Delco 560-51.

The above-referenced shocks not only perform well, but their configuration is virtually identical to the original shocks used on 63-82 Corvettes except, of course, for "numbers". They are supplied in black paint, but can be re-painted shock absorber blue/gray for year models originally so-painted.

A good deal when buying Reactec shocks

About four months ago I bought a set of the Reactec shocks that Joe describes for about $140 for the set of 4 including S&H changes from gmpartsdirect.com. If you can get a good discount from your local GM dealer, you may be able to beat the gmpartsdirect.com price. Personnally, I have not been able to get a better deal from my local GM dealer except when buying a few, small ticket items, for which gmpartsdirect.com's S&H charges are excessive.
